Fr. Carlo Paul G. Tejano was born and raised in Candon City, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. Fr. Carlo is the youngest child and only son of Edna and Amado Tejano. He is blessed with three sisters. Along with his sisters, Father attended a Catholic elementary school run by the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres at St. Joseph Institute in Candon City, Philippines. Father’s eldest sister, Cherry Ann, is a phlebotomist. Maria Cristina is a pharmacist, and Catherine is a financial manager. After finishing elementary, Father entered Immaculate Conception Minor Seminary in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, in 2000.
In 2005, he moved to the United States and entered Mount Angel Seminary in St. Benedict, Oregon, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religious Studies in 2008. Following his “pre-theology” time, Father undertook his theology studies also at Mount Angel and graduated with a Master's in Divinity in 2013.
On June 1, 2013, Fr. Carlo was ordained together with seven new priests by Bishop Soto at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. Since his ordination, Fr. Carlo has served as Parochial Vicar at St. Anthony Parish in Sacramento, St. Joseph Parish in Elk Grove, St. Clare Parish in Roseville, and St. Mary’s Parish in Vacaville.
On July 1, 2019, he was moved to St. Joseph Parish in Auburn. He completed his six-year term as Pastor until mid-2025. He was transferred and appointed Pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish in Corning in the summer of 2025, serving there until his sabbatical began on January 4, 2026, at the Pontifical North American College in Rome. He was in Rome for three months. Before he arrived at St. Anthony, he was at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in downtown Sacramento. We are blessed to have Fr. Carlo Paul G.
